Resources for College Libraries is a list of 62,000 core titles recommended for academic libraries. The titles featured in RCL are published in the US, including many titles available through UK publishing divisions. The 2006 edition was developed in collaboration with the Association of College and Research Libraries' (a division of the American Library Association) Choice Magazine, which is the premier source for reviews of academic books, electronic media, and Internet resources.

Resources for College Libraries is a direct successor to 1988's Books for College Libraries (BCL3).

The recommended titles are organized into 58 curriculum-specific subjects and include interdisciplinary subject areas. Resources for College Libraries also selects electronic resources and websites essential for undergraduate library collections. All titles are assigned an audience level marker indicating whether the title is most appropriate for lower-division undergraduate, upper-division undergraduate, faculty, or general readership. Records also include a notation if they previously appeared in BCL3 or have been reviewed by Choice.
